Course Descriptions

Course Fee : MYR 2,200 per pax Group of 3 : MYR 2,000 per pax Zeiss Course Synopsis A Workshop on Periodontal Regeneration Periodontal regeneration is a highly effective approach for restoring periodontally compromised teeth to a healthy state. However, the use of magnification plays a critical role in enhancing the outcomes of these procedures, particularly when employing minimally invasive surgical techniques. This comprehensive full-day workshop is designed to emphasize the importance of magnification in periodontal surgery, highlighting the ergonomic advantages of using a surgical microscope. Participants will learn how to effectively utilize the microscope to support periodontal interventions, as well as the key principles of guided tissue regeneration. By the conclusion of the course, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently perform guided tissue regeneration procedures, utilizing magnification to improve precision and surgical outcomes. Course Objective 1. Gain a comprehensive understanding of the role of magnification in enhancing the precision and outcomes of various periodontal surgical procedures. 2. Learn the proper techniques for setting up the microscope, as well as the optimal positioning of both the patient and the clinician to ensure an ergonomic surgical environment. 3. Explore the concept of guided tissue regeneration, including its historical development and significance in contemporary periodontal practice. 4.Understand the indications and contraindications for guided tissue regeneration, and how to assess when the procedure is appropriate. 5. Become familiar with various flap designs, including when and why to choose specific designs for different clinical scenarios. 6. Review the step-by-step process involved in performing a guided tissue regeneration surgical procedure. 7. Become familiar with various flap designs, including when and why to choose specific designs for different clinical scenarios. 8. Gain knowledge of the different grafting materials, collagen membranes, and biologics available for guided tissue regeneration, and their respective applications. Learn about the various types of sutures and the appropriate selection of knots for different clinical situations, ensuring optimal closure and healing. 9. Master the use of microsurgical instruments in suturing techniques to achieve precise and effective results.
